Anonymous asked: I have a late 90's Serotta Atlanta. I love the smooth ride of the steel frame but the shifters / derailers ( Shimano) are pretty worn. The front crank has a 52/39 with an 8 rear cassette. I haven't ridden much in years and I would like to start again but the gear set up is just too tough in the hills for me. It seems like it would be cheaper to find a low gear mtn bike then try to update this bike. Is it possible to update this bike for less than $300.00? Or is it a pipe dream? -Lynnwood

Sounds like a great ride!  We would love to help you out.  Depending on what modifications we can work within that budget.  To change the front chainrings and derailleur would require a little higher budget.  Feel free to swing the bike to any of our three locations (sounds like Alderwood might be the closest) and we can have our mechanics assess the bike and see what options are available.

Thanks,
